Last week a friend posted a song on her wall. I’ve listened to this song over and over. The past few years have been ones of struggle and pain and heartache and secrets. At times I truly felt like a I was losing my mind, I struggled to hold it together. I had to see that I can’t control my life. I have to let God do that . Read some of the lyrics of this song:
“So long to shame, walk through the sorrow
Out of the fire into tomorrow
So flush the pills, face the fear
Feel the wave disappear
We're comin' clear, we're born again
Our hopeful lungs can breathe again
Oh, we can breathe again”
I had to burn my ship. I had to rise up and face a new day. I had to face my fear.
We can’t live in castles of lies. God has not given us the spirit of fear. He wants us to live in His power. His love. His sound mind. Jesus came so we can have LIFE. And not just life but abundant life.
So “Step into a new day
We can rise up from the dust and walk away
We can dance upon our heartache, yeah
So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships
And don't you look back”

Forgiveness and Restoration

So let’s look at forgiveness and restoration from God’s point of view, shall we?
God forgave Adam and Eve but He did not ‘restore’ them to the Garden of Eden.
This world is still plunged into sin.
Actions have consequences.
God forgave Abraham for his liaison with Hagar but He didn’t restore him as the husband of one wife or remove Ishmael as his son.
The Middle East is still at war.
Actions have consequences.
God forgave Moses for murder but He didn’t restore him as Prince of Egypt.
Moses still spent 40 years in the desert learning humility.
Actions have consequences.
God forgave David for adultery with Bath-Sheba but He didn’t restore his baby’s life.
The baby still was taken.
Actions have consequences.
Jesus forgave the thief on the cross but He didn’t remove the penalty of the law of the land.
The thief still died on the cross that day.
Actions have consequences.
To claim that ‘I’m sorry’ should erase any consequences of your actions is not biblical.  Forgiveness does not and has not ever meant you erase any hurt that was caused or any results of your actions. Forgiveness is for the one who was hurt. God chooses to forgive us for HIS sake. Yes He restores us as His children. Yes He removes our sins as far as the east is from west. But He does not ever remove the consequences in this life. Only in the next.
Just some thoughts I had this morning.

I Should Apologize to Lot

I remember as a teen and young adult I would read the story of Lot and wonder *how* he could stay in Sodom when if vexed his 'righteous' soul.
Now I can understand.  I live in Sodom now.  I am not just speaking of homosexuality.  I live in a country who has for all intents and purposed turned her back on God and is not even remotely a Christian nation.  Everyone has right here it seems except Christians.  And I can only see this getting worse, since I see many who claim to be saved pushing the agendas completely opposite to the Word of God.
It vexes my soul.  I grieve for America.

And yet, I still love her. I still want her saved.  I still want God's blessings upon her.  I still want to be a light of the Gospel in this heathen nation.

I need to apologize to Lot.  He probably felt just like me.

  God save America-
  Land that I love,
  Start with me, Lord
  To be, Lord
One whose life proves that God lives above,
  Bring salvation to our nation,
That each one will hear and heed,
God save America, we humbly plead,
God save America, we humbly plead.

No Mistake. No Respect. No Remedy.

I'm sorry, Mr. Jenner.  You are wrong and you are wicked to say you are a woman.  I am speaking from the BIBLE'S point of view, so if you reject God's Word, you might want to stop reading.

Romans 9:20 ....

Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

God doesn't make mistakes.  God didn't OOPS when He made you.  You OOPSed when you sinned and chose to wickedly shake your fist in God's face and tell Him He should have made you differently.

I am so tired of America joining in to cheer on wickedness.  The Bible is clear, and the judgment of God is not long from coming.

Wake up, Christians.

2 Chronicles 36 tells us the end of this:

15 And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

I am very worried that we are at the point of no remedy.

So, this is where I am going to take my thoughts and opinions since I don't want to share on facebook anymore.  This is a test post to see if I am still a viable blog.
I will share this on facebook to see if the link on my profile works.

The Story Behind "Blessed Assurance"

One day, Phoebe Knapp was visiting with her dear friend, Fanny Crosby.  She play a simple melody for her and asked her what she thought.  Fanny replied, "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine".

Despite being blind, Fanny had a spiritual insight that is to be strived for.  She has blessed many of us with her hymn and poem writing.

Blessed Assurance has been my favorite song since I was a small child.  here is a beautiful version of it I want to share with you.

What is a Cult?

My pastor preached a sermon last night entitled What is a Cult?  I am sharing the notes with you, I thought it was excellent.

1.  A cult normally has communal living

2.  A cult seeks to weaken or destroy family ties

3.  A cult is usually well-armed

4.  The cult leader owns the property

5.  You must adhere to tenets and dogmas to be a member.

6.  A cult tends to dwell on prophecy

7.  Cults tell their followers what to do and they are obeyed.

8.  A cult claims that salvation is found only in their group

9.  Cult leaders always claim 'divine revelation' outside the Word of God

Churches that have these characteristics are dangerous.  I thought he presented a well thought out sermon and I just wanted to share it.
